This Campus-Only Liability Disclaimer (“Disclaimer”) applies to the use of the Campus Exchanges platform (“Campus Exchanges,” “Platform,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) and is incorporated into and governed by the Campus Exchanges Terms of Service.

Campus Exchanges is designed as a peer-to-peer marketplace primarily intended for use by college students within or in connection with college and university campuses.

1. Campus-Only Nature of Platform
Campus Exchanges facilitates connections between users for the purpose of buying and selling items commonly associated with campus life, including textbooks and miscellaneous personal property. The Platform does not supervise, control, or endorse any in-person interactions.

2. No Institutional Affiliation
Campus Exchanges:
– Is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by any college or university
– Does not represent campus security, campus administration, or student organizations
– Does not act on behalf of any educational institution

References to campuses or schools are solely for user identification and convenience.

3. In-Person Transactions & Meetups
Users acknowledge and agree that:
– All in-person meetups are voluntary and occur at the users’ own risk
– Campus Exchanges does not organize, monitor, or supervise meetups
– Users are responsible for selecting safe meeting locations and times

Campus Exchanges strongly recommends meeting in public, well-lit campus areas.

4. Assumption of Risk
By using Campus Exchanges, users voluntarily assume all risks associated with:
– In-person interactions
– Exchange of goods
– Transportation to and from meetups
– Use, handling, or possession of purchased items

5. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Campus Exchanges shall not be liable for:
– Personal injury or bodily harm
– Theft, loss, or damage to property
– Criminal acts by other users
– Disputes arising from in-person transactions
– Actions occurring on or off campus property

6. No Security Guarantee
Campus Exchanges does not guarantee:
– User identity verification beyond stated platform measures
– Campus safety or security
– The conduct or intentions of any user

Users are encouraged to follow the Safety & Community Guidelines at all times.

7. Indemnification
Users agree to indemnify and hold harmless Campus Exchanges from any claims, damages, losses, or liabilities arising from:
– In-person interactions
– Campus-related activities
– Violations of platform policies

8. Emergency Situations
Campus Exchanges is not an emergency service. In case of immediate danger, users should contact campus police or local emergency services.

9. Modifications
Campus Exchanges reserves the right to update this Disclaimer at any time. Continued use of the Platform constitutes acceptance of any changes.
